Do the Poor Have a Right to Self Defense? Hi-Point?

A 9mm Hi-Point is not pretty, but works. Could you put aside your preferences and recommend a $200 Hi-Point 9mm pistol to a poor person who needs a home defense handgun?

Or...what other handgun would you recommend to a poor person?
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

Hi points are ugly but they are blowback guns that work as well as pretty guns. Not much to screw up. They are heavy. they are fugly, they are big. They go bang. They do that more than a lot of high priced pretty firearms. If I had to immediately defend my life and there was a Kimber and a Hi Point sitting on a table in front of me I'd probably grab the hi point.

No they do not. At least according to Democrats who oppose voter-ID laws on the basis that acquiring an ID is a financial hardship.

If I had an urgent need for protection, yes a hi-point could be a choice. I still ponder buying one to leave at my cabin.

With most things in life, I have saved to purchase what I believe is the best for me. I saved 3 years for my first suppressor.

When I worked, I could afford $5 a day for lunch and drinks. What I didn't spend would be put into a jar as "spent". When vacation time rolled around I had around $700 of free money.

Do the Poor Have a Right to Self Defense?
No.

They have a right to work.
They have a right to rest and leisure.
They have a right to free health care.
They have a right to income in old age, sickness, etc.
They have a right to free housing.
They have a right to a free education

Oh, wait. I was stuck back in 1936 for a moment there. Sorry.

Do not stay stuck back there ... not a healthy period for some people ..

Who says you need such an ugly shooter to defend yourself .. Where I live (not back in '36 .. ) only the police has a right to defend themselves with firearms.. .. seems we are still stuck back in '36 ..

I would vote for the SCCY because of the "no questions asked" warranty. If they are poor, living in low income housing where crime rates are high. They can use the firearm to defend themselves and if it gets stolen they will not have to pay another $200 to replace it. They seem like great options for truck/trunk guns.

I owned a hi-point 9mm carbine several years back and aside from the 10 round mags I actually enjoyed the little rifle. aside from the "charging handle" flying off once I never had any issues with it. and it had such a generous throat that I shot 158 gr swc's out of a 9mm case and they were very quiet and hit hard. with 22lr going on its 4th year of being overpriced or unobtainable I'm considering picking up another for the kids to use if I don't do a 9mm AR instead.

Biden says to just pee on Violent Felon Attackers. :?

Or to shoot shotguns indiscriminately into a crowd if one is available. :x

Neither seem like very good advice to me. But I didn't grow up eating paint chips. So I don't pass to Dem max IQ test. 85 is it now?

Let's define poor. Is it a person that lives in section 8 housing that drives a new Lexus? Everybody is poor when it comes to buying something they don't want. I could have a one shot zip gun and feel safe. It's better than nothing find me one of 5 guys standing together and one that'll step forward to get shot by one. My .357 mag derringer was 150 used well under the 200 mark.
