Intriguing piece of work, never seen anything like it before. I'm struggling to see any benefits to the design, but it looks like it was well made.

I saw some stuff about a patent filed by Wesson for a pistol with a removable magazine, stationary barrel and laterally moving breech block. Maybe it was someone's attempt to get around his moving breech block design.
