In 1996 a USMC buddy of mine in my Dept was asking people to go in w him on purchasing Machine Plans to build a Garage .50BMG. Many of us were tempted, but none of us had the Machining Equipment needed to make it!

I'm glad that I didn't pay. It would have been a complete waste of $500. 8)

I bought Paladin Press books of "homemade" firearms, recoilless rifles, IEDs, Incendiaries, etc in the 1980s. I've never made any of them (;)) but many seem to be doable. The 12ga in 3/4" pipe, rifle grenades, Irish Mortars, etc. I'd just need to be in a bad enough Situation b/f I would try to make and use them. :?
---
If I could purchase a .50 receiver and barrel cheap enough, I'd be tempted to make and NFA reg 1 myself. They're just too darn expensive.

Or do like some people and stock-up before a gun buy-back program

Building a quality 50BMG rifle is not that difficult.Have you ever heard of the Maddi Griffin it a very solid design and highly accurate.

The only reason after 243 years the government now wants to disarm you is they intend to do something you would shoot them for!

I searched online and cant find how/where to buy one, or their cost.
All the Links are old and the MNFR website is 403 Forbidden. :(

Can you connect me with who/how I can get 1? And yes, I have a local FFL to process the Transfer. 8) :)

Only plans were offered for the Maddi-Griffin and they were expensive but the LAR Grizzly Big Bore is the same gun manufactured.Shooting 30 caliber sabots out of a fifty makes elevation adjustments a thing of the past.
I'm not 100% on how you could buy one I built post my 02 license but it may be possible?. I modified a few features to ease rebuilding without compromising strength plus a real recoil pad.The plans could be modified to handle a 20mm if you had that desire.
