So a guy pays them $10,000 to build a SSA from scratch. Why would you have them build it when you can buy a new one from Colt for under $1500? Also, if you went to Colt and said "I have $10,000 to spend if you make me a cool engraved one" I am sure they could do an awesome job, and it would have the pedigree of actually being a Colt.

It is all fake s--t for the show. I wish some one would film a show showing a real gun mfg. day to day activities or just show the behind the scenes of a real gun smith without the drama or bullshit.

WTF - American Gun, watched it for the first time and he takes helicopter rides in a Jet Ranger no less to buy guns. Then buys a transferable BAR for only 13K? No wonder he can take a Jet Ranger every where, he is scalping people. I can't blame him though, the owner should have known. He then takes it with him w/o any paperwork?

Did they make pot legal in CO? This show seems to be based around smoking a lot of it.

These guys are better than Red Jacket by a long shot and at least they seem to actually have real smiths. I don't think they can make a gun show without the drama.

I dont get the channel, Luckily youtube viewers (like the one link i posted) uploaded a bunch of episodes. Its a show hosted mainly by Larry Vickers and some other dude; they also have other big name co-hosts and guests such as Jason Falla and Ken Hackathorn. They go through a bunch of stuff, I linked you to an episode focused on supressors.

This show is a damned travesty. These guys are flat out crooks. The owner is a criminal with low morals. I've been to this shop. I drive by it often. When you go in there, prepare to be insulted. They put out trash and will engrave their s--t logo on your gun if you get it worked on there.

Thanks for the great link Kwin.

After reading up on that blog, its no surprise some of the craze priced the dude talks about on the show. He seems more like a rip off artist than a good gun dealer.

Im very lucky to have an awesome dealer just a short drive from my house. He has great prices, great layaway and treats you very well every time your there. A true customer service pro. and he has an awesome smith!

We all deserve the stupid s--t that these channels produce. I watched the Red Jacket show one (1) time and never again! The same with American guns, saw it one time and I will not watch it again! The daughter and even mom are far better to look at than just about anything I have seen in most gun stores. While these shows are tragic they don't even carpare to the repo type shows that I have seen! That's time you just don't get back!

Did they really just claim an AR180 was worth $4500?

Does the 'gun investor' think that by paying high retail on non-NFA guns there is a chance he will be able to sell them for more than what he paid within 20-30 years?

And taking a $600 helicopter ride is a good way to make more profit?

I think I saw this show last night. He told a guy it would cost him $8000 to $10000 to mount a couple Walther PPK's (S&W's) in some kit car he brought in. ::face meet palm::

The airport he leaves from is 45 minutes from his shop. To go to a place that is 15 minutes from his shop. The helicopter rides and rip off attitude rubs me the wrong way. Everything is way over priced.

This show is as REDICULOUS as SOG. But I was curious how they made a blued gun stainless. Or did I miss something
