I would go 38 SPL./ 357 Before I would go 327....
I have no experience with the "new Charter Arms" the older ones were good serviceable revolvers.

I have a Charter Arms Undercover in .38 SPL that I got on a trade and it has went bang every time I pulled the trigger. Its not a nice gun, but it works and I couldn't be happier. My wife carries a S&W 642 and it is a much nicer gun and I am more comfortable with her carrying the Smith, but they both do the same thing, throw .38SPL rounds in the general direction you point them at.
