Could you do a groove for a c snap ring type attachment. Technically not a threaded barrel but groove would have to be cut. Any other ways around it beside integral.

Threaded barrel Ban would cut way back on suppressor log jam.

Anecdote from another site. Such a weak attachment caused the can
to sail merrily down range, accompanied by an immediate lower sphincter puckering. :)

I cannot remember if the can was attached via set screws to such a groove ring but it was not
the safer sleeve method that latched firmly behind the front sight, e.g., D.A.Q pistol adaptor or
the M1 Carbine back-of-the-front sight coupling of the flash hider.

Hope this helps. Shoot safely.

could you do a series of grooves then have a quick clamp system into those grooves. kinda like the quick attach suppressors today. technically not a threaded barrel just a grooved one.

How about a 3-Lug or Bi-Lock type mount?

Has to be easy to manufacture. Or were back at square one. Time will tell and so will lawyers whether the gun companies are willing to test the ban or not. Commercial acceptance of a easy design is crucial. I feel bad for the new upstart companies making AR parts. The gun was really coming into its own. The adaptive nature is what I will miss if they ban it completely. Hopefully you will still be able to buy parts just not lowers. I would like piston uppers be widely accepted as industry standard but most american will never shoot their AR's enough to tell the difference. I was really watching the innovation in new calibers in the platform. Will that continue with the companies knowing the platform in the future will die if banned completely however far down the road? The biggest threat to guns is the price of ammunition. If the government ever figures out how to ration the supplies for bullets or ban lead completely guns will in effect die a slow death.

A strait smooth barrel with a collet or a clamp of some sort. It's been done . Seen it before . It's not the only way but how to adapt all the threaded cans once you cut all the threads off is of the same question. Answer that one for me! :? Are you?

I think that you could have the threaded barrel with a silver-soldered HK 3 point lug. In the last awb, that was a common work-around.

Can you pin/weld on an AAC Mount? Does the AAC mount actually have "threads"?

That is actually called brazing.
