New SWR cans
SWRs website is showing an Octane 45 and Specwar 762.... funny thing is the baffle material for the Specwar is "PolyMimetic"... it seems someone over their has a good sense of humor.

Have my dibs on two already! And threaded barrels for handguns in hand and carbine barrels being threaded.
SWEET!
SWEET!
Re: New SWR cans
Numbers?
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.
Re: New SWR cans
That's an impressive 45 can, I probably would have gotten that rather than my Osprey had it been out at the time, so that I could shoot leadcast and I would be less worried about shooting it wet since I could clean it.
Re: New SWR cans
This just got bumped to the top of my wish list.

Re: New SWR cans
Octane45 compared to Osprey45
1oz heavier
~close db dry
.5" longer
same price
blocks sights more
So.... selling points are user take-down for cleaning, 3-lug compatible (I would think), full auto rated?
It's a pass for me, but I'm still interested in an Octane9.

Re: New SWR cans
Well, since I just found out today that my Octane9 HD was approved it looks like I know what I'm getting next. An Octane45 and Saker 5.56 are in my future. They'll go nicely with my Osprey, Sparrow, and Octane9. It'll be one big happy family.
Then later on maybe we'll adopt a 30cal Silencerco/SWR can too!

Re: New SWR cans
Any idea when these will be available ?
Do I need to order directly or are there any stocking dealers that have this in stock ?

Re: New SWR cans
manufacturers are finally catching on the fact consumers have a need for user servicable cans.
Re: New SWR cans
Their website shows the Specwar 556 on what appears to be an 8.5" bbl'd AR15. Can it actually survive the blast from something that short? I've got a 10.5 and figured I simply couldn't put a can on it.

Re: New SWR cans
The Specwar will handle a 7.5" AR but baffle erosion will be much worse. The Saker is better suited to a 7.5" because of the Hoplon blast baffle design.
Octane 45s are shipping now. The new sound test videos should be up sometime next week.

Re: New SWR cans
That must have been painful to keep the O45 quiet until they were shipping. Good job on premiering and shipping at the same time. Excellent company strategy.

Agreed!

Does anyone have an idea of when to expect the Specwar 762 to start shipping.

I hope that it's not a year and a half like the 5.56 Spec War.

Re: New SWR cans
I asked my dealer on Facebook and he responded that they are expecting a March shipping date.
So is the Specwar 7.62 going to be using the new baffle material of the Saker?

Same materials as the Saker, however the baffles have a different design.jhjenkins4th wrote:I asked my dealer on Facebook and he responded that they are expecting a March shipping date.
