I'm trying to decide which of these two I am going to get. What are your opinions on which would be the better host and why?
Thanks in advance.

22/45 lite 100%

Super proven.
Prethreaded barrel.
Can get volquarsten parts.

Just my 2cents :D
Own both btw.

The new SR22 has a threaded version now also. More of a traditional pistol look. More compact and way easier to disassemble/reassemble.

I have shot both. The SR22 is possibly quieter but the 22/45 lite has better geometry for man hands.

IMHO go 22/45 lite I love mine

The SR22 just came out last year, and the threaded version has just come out this year. I don't think there is really enough suppressed users out there to know. Vs the 22/45 LITE... Well, I like my LITE although it is just a tiny bit too light in my opinion, I actually prefer just a little more weight, but I'm keeping it.

If this thread asked SR22 vs P22 well... That's more apt and I really have to imagine the SR22 is probably better in every single way.

I'm leaning toward the Lite, especially now that Ruger got rid of the gold anodize and 'slide cuts' and went with black anodize and fluted barrel. I had just heard that the SR22 was quieter. Again, thanks to those that replied.

I have the 22/45 and a P22.....The 22/45 feels like a real gun when holding it compared to the Walther which feels more like a toy. Since my hands are rather small I'm thinking I'll pick up a SR22 since it may fit my hands a bit better than the 22/45 (was just scared to start running the hell outta my P22 when cans start arriving since I've seen so many people here talk of slides cracking on them)......I also prefer the traditional pistol look. Get both hosts and don't think twice about it......no such thing as too many 22's in my opinion.....I have more than I can count these days. The 22/45 does have a sweet red dot on top though so it may get more runtime than all the other pistol hosts combined.....yep, get em both!

I wouldnt take a 22/45 if you gave it to me. Mine was a pain in my ass to take it apart. . . that was the reason i went with the walther. . . .twice as nice.

That's funny because thats why I got rid of my P22, the rugers are a pain the ass also, but with a replacement trigger and the readily available extra magazines the rugers are a better choice IMHO. I do think that the P22 sounds quieter suppressed though.

What makes the SR22 or P22 a quieter host? It seems to me that the ejection port on the 22/45 is smaller/more enclosed. Is it just the 3.5" barrel versus the 4.4"?

And that is the main reason that why the metal detector for gold was invented and have help people a lot in hunting for gold nugget, and it seems the gold metal detector is realy an reliable device.
What the F--k are you talking about?

I have a 2245 lite and a walther p22. I have also shot an sr22 though. Regardless, the 2245 lite is leaps and bounds above any of them. It shoots SO SMOOTH compared to the others.

Also, the p22 produces alot of blowback into your face when it is suppressed. So much so that it makes it less enjoyable to shoot. The 2245 lite does not do this. I can't remember if the sr22 did, but it's similar to the walther so I'm guessing it might.

I can't believe the walther is even being discussed. Do a google search and you will see dozens of broken slides. Zinc pot metal = crappolla

Why no votes for the buck mark?

The new M&P 22 Compact is a high quality gun. Only downsides are it doesn't come with a wrench, or a 1/2x28 thread adapter.

22/45 lite with volquartsen trigger is a thing of beauty. takedown is a PIA, but worth it.

I've been very pleased with my SR22. It digests just about any ammo that will fit in the magazine. Although I don't particularly find the Ruger MK's all that challenging to field strip, the SR22 is certainly much simpler.

SR-22 is great for my kids due to the size.

I like the 22/45 better. Alter it to release the mags if you get one.

The M&P version is the one I grab the most.

My wife has a SR22 and I have a 22/45 Lite. They are both great pistols, and both digest any ammo we feed them. The 22/45 is "smoother" shooting, I just prefer it better than the SR22. I installed slingshot in the 22/45 to make it better, and I only disassemble and clean it when it starts to act up, which is a couple thousand rounds or more.

Wather made Colt 1911 22LR is fun as well. I rotate my Sparrow between 22/45 & 1911 all the time. Pilot II lives on my wifes SR22.
