Looking for Rec' for a HK MP5 SD can?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

You should contact RCM, they may have something.

We recently recored a MP5SD can, not sure if the owner is on this forum or not.

Here's a picture of it, fully serviceable and this one was titanium and SS. Think the original tube was super thick aluminum. It was a Coharie recore.

HK recommends cleaning the internals every 300-400 rounds of the weapons.

I would recommend cleaning the internals of the MP5SD at least every 500 rounds so you can be sure its performing as designed. You can obviously go much longer but for optimal performance since its a ported barrel.

Ouch! I shoot 500 rounds every outing to the range. I hope it's not much more of a burden to clean than a regular MP5, etc.

Thanks for the info. I do appreciate it.

Compared to a regular MP5 suppressed the fouling is 40-60% greater in my estimation.

Depending on the silencer you get for it will depend how fast it fouls. The Coharie before we attacked it would need cleaning after 300 rounds MAX. After we were done with it it was around 500 as ours suppressor had less backpressure so it sent less gas back down the barrel.
