SRI is Melonite treating Sparrow tubes!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

I like to send mine too. But I talk to Silencerco, They said they won't cover the warrenty. They send me back the new Half pipe tomorrow, because my half pipe is wrup.

I Love the warrenty from SilencerCo.

Silencerco told us they would still honor the warranty if we did the treatment......we wouldn't have offered this if they hadn't blessed it.

Please PM me the name of the individual that said it wouldn't be covered.

As long as the refinishing process is not the cause of damage the Sparrow will still be covered under our warranty, if anything happens during the refinishing, Matt has assured me SRI will cover it.

That's what I'm talking about. Silencerco has got us covered.

Thanks Andrew to clear things out. I just leave it my Sparrow the way they are. Don't want to mess up the warrenty. I had send my Sparrow twice for service. 1st time you refinish the tube and give the new core, half pipe and end cap. 2nd time you you replace the half pipe. turn around time in 6 day. That's why I choose Silencerco/SWR.

Had a bunch of Sparrow's arrive today.

We had a couple that were sent in pretty dirty, not pretty clean but dirty as in not even cleaned at all, so we will be sending them out on the 5th because we have to clean them now.

That said if there are any stragglers that want in and can have their cans in by Saturday then we will add them to the run.

LAST CALL.

We can treat while in transfer. No need to wait, unless your SOT doesn't want to send it to us.

Dang, I hope to catch the next run. My SOT is weird and I don't want to get him to mail my sparrow to you. My stamp should be here shortly, hopefully within two weeks. I will watch for the next run.

This is what I will do with the one I have in transfer (paperwork going out tomorrow). Thanks!

Edit: I guess I'll get in on the next one after reading through this whole thread and realizing how firm the deadline is. I literally *just* bought a ss sparrow a few days ago and saw this thread tonight. Count me in for next time!

How are we looking on this?

You should charge for the ones you had to clean!

Here's an update guys.

We are progressing as expected, the treatment facility has them and is doing their thing.

We went with the second shipping time frame because over 70% of the Sparrows sent in were dirty.

We received a couple headsup from guys saying they cleaned it as much as possible and I have no issues with those cans.

We received 1 that I strongly suspect was not even attempted to be cleaned.

We also received 1 that the owner even said that he didn't read the writeup and just figured that we would clean it so he blew it out with compressed air.

They say hindsight is 20/20 and in this case it truly is. In the offering I never made a mention of charging people(or a cleaning fee) if they didn't clean their cans. I guess I hoped by the description that everyone would do their part, it was the only way we could offer it at the price point that we did.

At this point we lost money and time doing this run and sadly it does not look like we will offer this service again. If we do decide to try again then there will be a mandatory cleaning fee of $50 per can attached(making the total $115) and if the can is sent in clean then the $50 will be refunded. Either that or we will only offer it for virgin cans only.

Unfortunately I do not see any way around this.

Damn, that's too bad... the price alone, will probably deter people from considering treatments clean or not... Why not upon receipt, inspect the cans for cleaniness, reject the dirty cans unless the owner agrees to pay for the additional cleaning fee. If they don't want to pay for the additional cleaning fee ship them back and issue a refund minus the shipping and possibly a small inspection fee.

Don't take this the wrong way... I understand your frustration... But there's no reason to punish those of us who were considerate enough and took the time to truly clean our cans.

There are a couple more cans I would like to purchase and have treated in the future. but if the price deters people, you man never get the minimum number of cans needed to do this again.

Just saying

Unfortunately the reality is that only the dip method can truly get everything squeaky clean. It's at the most convenient/simplest level also; just 2 everyday ingredients and a glass jar. But not everyone is comfy being around, handling, and disposing such hazardous stuff.

Dip-only customers in the future perhaps?

Solve the problem right now and make it know to all who submitted cans. Charge the bums who sent in dirty cans. Lazy people and their nasty parts should not cause the "clean among us" to pay for detergent. Sounds like the healthcare bs right now. The clean (those that can afford) are paying extra for the dirty among us... Not fair.

Ok, im off my soapbox. It was a clean soapbox, you dirty bastards!
