I already have the AR-15 in 5.56 suppressed with a Phantom 5.56 QD - this is my first suppressed and the reason I want more. Dammit.
I know that there are a lot of suppressors that work with multi-calibers - and I'm already using the 5.56 can on the MKIII Occasionally.
Everything I have listed above either has or can have a threaded barrel...
My initial thoughts is to get something for 9mm so I can run it on the carbine and on the MP-11/Nine... What other calibers will a 9mm suppressor work, and work well, on?
Thoughts?

Get a good 45 can that will cover quite a few on your list.

Get a good 22 can then a Octane 9 or 45. There no perfect can for everything and running 22LR through a 223 can is stupid.

Isn't the phantom sealed? Don't do this.Ruger Mark III (Using the Phantom 5.56 on it at times now)

+1 on what wacki said

This isn't a dedicated suppressor for the Mark III - it's a novelty that I occasionally shoot to demo. It is a non-user serviceable can but with a combination of the LSD treatment (Lemi Shine + Dawn) and a jeweler's type of ultrasonic cleaner - everything seems to come out.wacki wrote:Isn't the phantom sealed? The finish on the suppressor more than likely wont stand up to repeated exposure to the US cleaner. There is a thread in the silencerco section where a guy did this with his sparrow tube and now it's rusting on him. My advise is call YHM and ask them what their thoughts are on 22lr through the suppressor and what damage can be done cleaning it in a US cleaner. They are ultimately the ones you will have to work out warranty repair with if something goes wrong. As a side note I am sending my 22lr suppressor back to the factory because of a fluke baffle strike and my can is take apart. I don't have the expertise to say how hard a sealed can is to repair but I wouldn't think it is a easy job.

#1 get a 22 can and stop doing that like wacki said
#2 a 308 can or a 45 can

Get a swr Spectre for your 22's. then you can buy a 17 to thread. Suppressed rimfires are fun.
Then go for a 9mm can and shoot 147 gr subs.
Then a 762SD for the others.

The 10/22 is so fun with all the different options...don't forget the nylon bolt buffer.
Re: With following guns, if you owned them - what to suppres
Get a can that can be cleaned - for the 22LR - you'll have to get subsonic ammo unless the barrel is 4.5 inches or less.
If it was me and I wanted to maximize my fun for less stamp money - I'd look at a 9mm cleanable can like Octane or Ti-rant or even a 45 can.
I have a AAC Cyclone and use it on FN-FAL and Mosin-Nagant and Bolt action 243 - makes life better but doesn't give giggles like
9mm subsonic or 22LR subsonic shooting.

Before I read the entire thread I thought...He needs a 22 can next. That's the way to go. forget multi use silencers and get a nice lightweight 22 silencer for the 1022 and mkIII. After the 22 get a 9mm silencer not a 45 to use on a 9.
