quick detach .22 silencers

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

And they failed on the design which is why it was discontinued, the mount was classified as a silencer in itself.

AAC's .22 cans used to have interrupted threads and could be used as "QD" silencers with the appropriate matching mount.

The "problem" with any QD system is that you are then required to buy the QD adapters in order to use your shiny new can.

My personal use for it on my 7.62 can is this, I have 4 different types of threading for the guns that use it. Their muzzles are threaded:

1/2x28 - ARs, 223 bolt gun
5/8x24 - 308 bolt gun
M14x1 - AKs
.595x32 - or something ridiculous like that on the M1A

So instead of changing the threads on all my guns, I can simply buy different adapters.

Now for a 22lr, how many different thread pitches are there (really)?

1/2x28 - 99% of the guns
1/2x20 - Only CZ I think?

So you buy a QD 22lr, now you have to buy a mount for every single gun you're going to use it on. Or, just buy a 22 can in 1/2x28 and if you even have a gun that uses 1/2x20, buy a single adapter for that. Or if you have a can that can shoot 5.7, buy an adapter for that if necessary.

If you really want it too, Griffin does make the "conversion kit" to make any 1/2x28 can into a QD can. It runs you almost $100 though.

I can get some tomorrow. And mounts are cheap. I got 4 for $100 when I needed them. I also just ordered a replacement ss rear endcap, inner bushing, spring, and takedown tool for $50. Considering what other companies are asking for just a rear cap upgrade, I'd say I got a good deal.

Not that you asked, but you would be better served putting that money on a Spectre II. I base that statement on experience with the monocore... it's better than a Mite, but there are much better cans out there. The newer baffle stack may work better than the monocore, but I still seriously doubt it is as quiet as a Spectre or Spectre II. And I know it isn't as tough.

There is a new company that is getting ready launch a quick detach unit that retrofits any threaded suppressor into a QD unit. No form 4 required!! I spoke with the rep for the company and he told me that the unit is available in all calibers.

I would love to have something that turns my threaded can into a quick detach unit without having to buy another suppressor.

Sounds interesting. If well done and high quality materials, I would retrofit 4-5 cans myself.

Appears they went to an integrated spacer to make them easier to get out.

GemTech makes several. I'm surprised that they don't make a push-up like on KAC XM9.

The company name is Rock Bottom Industries. They are targeting the owners who are tired of threading their suppressors. I know they are planning on launching in February. I spoke to the owner of the company, and he said to be looking in Shotgun News for the launch.

Gemtech...their products are overpriced. They are not releasing a QD unit that retrofits like what Rock Bottom Ind is going to.

I have done hours of testing on this product line...its sweet. Nothing but quality materials...PERIOD. If your tired of threading, you will want this! Perfect for wet cans because you wont have to take your can off to add lubricant. Also, they will be including multiple attachments in their package.

You should let them know there are about a dozen other companies that use the same name.

What language are the 3 "product" pages in? Latin?
This is the wording: "Morbi leo risus, porta ac consectetur ac, vestibulum at eros. Donec id elit non mi porta gravida at eget metus. Duis mollis, est non commodo luctus, nisi erat porttitor ligula, eget lacinia odio sem nec elit. Maecenas sed diam eget risus varius blandit sit amet non magna."
I'm guessing that the site isn't completed yet.
Wanted to see pics of product, but got "dream" shots of cellphones instead.

As for Company name: If they own the domain name, then they own the Web presence. Duplicate names well loose some traffic on Search Engines, but if they promote the site enough plenty of people will bookmark it and refer others like tunafish did above.
