1/2X28 TO 1/2X28 WITH O-RING ENGAGEMENT&THREAD PROTECTOR

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

1/2X28 TO 1/2X28 WITH O-RING ENGAGEMENT&THREAD PROTECTOR

Post by ScottNC »

Help! I have my complete Kidd Build arriving at my FFL on July 5th and just come to realize I need an adapter for Kidd's threaded barrel. Does anyone know who has these in stock, I have run all the searches I can think of and also posted to Silencerco this morning but am having no luck finding one that is in stock. Any help, greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys,
Scott

I'm not sure what you are looking for. I have a KIDD SBR and my Element and Spectre II both screw right on to the KIDD threaded barrel.

You dont need it imo.....I have one of those and the only reason is I have a gun with stupid long threads and even with a gemtech spacer it chews up the o ring in my sparrow. If the threads are the right length its no necessary imo.

Well, I wish that was correct. KIDD threads their barrels .475" 1/2x28, here is the reply from Silencerco, but with of course no suggestion on where to get a .075" spacer! I replied and asked if they could supply me with one, but haven't heard back yet.

If the threaded portion of the barrel is longer than .400" which I am assuming thats what the .475" meant, you won't get a proper shoulder. You will either need a thin spacer or to modify the existing threads.

Scott,

If you can find a spacer that is .100" thick at your local hardware store that should take care of the issue. It is slightly thicker than you need but will leave plenty of threads exposed for mounting.

Thanks
