General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

BTW... I got my papers in yesterday thanx to Renegade......you rock!

I used the phantom mount that came with the M4-1000 and mounted/dismounted twice and
the knobs on the mount already ate up my retaining pin..........WTF!!!

It actually hasnt broke off yet but 75% of it is now grounded off.

I purchased the M4-2000 A1 mount a while ago and mounted it and it works pefect and smooth on my SBR.
But when I mounted the M4-1000 on the mount that it came with......it chewed up the round pin that locks the suppressor in place on my 14.5.

I can now tell that the old A1 mount knobs are not so straight edged as the new Phantom mount, but didnt know that it would jack up the pin.

I havent even had it 24hrs yet..........

What do I need to do to get a replacement? I probably need to actually order a few more........This sucks.

There are no pins in the silencer. Do you mean the spring?

The pic you posted does not show anything on the spring that is 75% worn through.

Well I might have embellished a little, but it is almost flat.

Metal rubbing on metal will tend to do that.

Tons of residue

Tons of filings would be a minimum of 4000lbs of filings. You do tend to exaggerate.

Things tend to wear untill, they fit, then they stay at that point for ever.

Just know that if you feel you want another spring, I am sure AAC will send one. I would have to hardness test your A1 flash mount and spring to know what is up. Or you could just replace it for free.

The A1 is perfect...............the phantom is the one tearing up the spring pin.

Phantom = SCARmor = Very Hard
A1 = Black Oxide? = Not Very Hard

Sound about right?

Good info, I've got some cash in-hand and trying to figure out what suppressor to buy, I think I want a QD .30 cal model, but want to be very careful to have minimal POI shift.

Tag!

I have my phantom mounted and am waiting for my M4-1000. Would it make sense to sopp CLP on the mount to help the spring "break in" the first few mountings?

Very good guys...........

Thanks I appreciate the actual replies where it actually has something to do with
remedying my problem.

I will work just a tad with the dremel some, barely. Also, some CLP is a great idea also.

I have a 2006 m42k. my spring looks the same. i assumed that it was normal since it rubs the teeth on the mount. is the spring not supposed to wear like this? i have the scarmor version phantom also.

The spring will wear some from use. Metal rubbing on metal creates this particular issue.

Without seeing a better photo or having the spring in hand I can not truly determine if something is amiss or not.

If you still have an elbow on the spring then you will have no problems.

E-mail me your address and I will send you a new spring to keep on hand.

We have NEVER had a M4-1000/2000 spring break. Did it break from too much dremel?
