Suppressor Cover

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Suppressor Cover

Would silicone cookwear withstand the heat of a hot suppressor if one used it as a cut-to-fit cover? Or would it just melt to the outside of the tube?

Depends on what your putting it on. I think it would melt when the temp of the can get's above 600 degrees. http://www.riflesonly.com/store/TAB/sas.html

I don't now about data but when AAC tested the G5 you can see it glowing red from the full auto test.

I bought one of those for my bolt action 308 and love it. No way I would put one on a carbine for fast shooting scenarios though. Its really best as a mirage stopper for an optically equipped silenced weapon.

Silicone is good to 600 or 700 degrees. It would be ok for a can that did not get red hot.
