General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Pictures of bullets in flight, including suppressed

Post by warjunky1428 »

Gentleman, even those intimate with firearms who I associate with have called me a "gun nerd," and today I have again proven it to be so.

The link below is the site of a Finnish photographer who has a thing for capturing bullets in flight and at the muzzle. About 2/3rd's down the page, he has a side by side comparison of a .22lr leaving the muzzle both unsuppressed and suppressed that I believe you all will find intriguing. It would be interesting if someone were to use a transparent sleeve on a suppressor that only had to survive one shot so that we could visibly see the capturing of gas and subsequent turbulence by the baffles and design.

Enjoy some of the sexiest pictures I have seen to date.

Unfortunately the pictures are too large to post, so you'll have to check them out yourself.

thanks for sharing.

I'm partial to the vitamin B shot.

All that powder debris in some of those pictures reminds me of some of the Hubble pictures.

Beautiful photos - thanks for posting. I'd like to see more about the setup used to capture them.
