Octane 9 Fixed Barrel Adapter Conversion

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Octane 9 Fixed Barrel Adapter Conversion

Post by EagleKeeper »

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to convert their booster (Nielsen device) 1/2-28 adapter to allow it to work with a fixed barrel, I imagine it would entail taking out the spring and replacing it with a spacer, but my Octane 9 is still in purgatory and I haven't been able to see it in person yet to figure out how to do this. I ask because my 9mm glock is threaded 1/2-28 as is my Ruger 22/45 and MP 15-22, and I haven't been able to find the fixed barrel adapters for this can. Thanks for any help!

You mean this?

http://www.superiorsilence.com/collecti ... read-mount

Given the choice, using a fixed mount is better than using a piston/spacer combo.

Yeah, definitely buy the fixed adapter online or just have you gun shop order it for you. As soon as you try to jerry rig something, you'll put a round through the side of the end cap and just wish you spent the $85 in the first place.

If that's true ... what can one do for threads like M16x1 LH as might be found on an HK UMP?

Get the fixed adapter from silencershop. It works.

That Sir ... is the point ... no fixed adapter available. Only the piston and a spacer.

Is there an option that TrosUSA makes to convert the thread pattern?

While the fixed mount is the preferred method, a fixed barrel spacer and piston should give you no issues at all.
