OVERRUN 9MM MICRO SUPPRESSOR $189 BLOWOUT!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

It's business law 501 (contracts and agency law). And yea, lawyers are different breed for sure.

The Poseidon wet and wiped has been tested to produce 22-24 dB reduction putting it in the mid to upper 130s depending on the host/ammo or about 10-12 dB louder than a "full size" and "top performing" 9mm suppressor.

These sound great. I was present when Brooks brought one of these out and shot it on a DB9. Worth the money for sure.I'll be putting one on a S&W Shield

How effective would these be on a .32acp VZ61 Skorpion?

After much thought (who hell am I kidding, it's only $200*), I sent Brooks a check for one. I figure it will be the perfect can for my 9mm barrel on my Contender. You're only going to fire one or two shots hunting anyway, so it will be perfect.

* - and $200 excise tax and an 15 month wait!

Still, good product for price and size. As 1 member's tagline says: Suppressors are cheaper than hearing aids.

10dB difference is 1000 times stronger and 12dB nearly 2000 times.

Those numbers aren't how the logarithmic scale works.

In what scale?

This says

10 dB diff is 10x the power ratio.
20 dB diff is 100x
30 dB diff is 1,000x
40 dB diff is 10,000x

After $75-$100 xfer fee and $200 tax stamp it's almost $500.

The debate for me is between a $500 overrun and a $600 mainstream poseidon

If you might use it for more than 20-30 rounds, consider buying a TiRant, Osprey or Octane, etc. They get better suppression and don't need to be kept wet.
If 18dB and frequent refills don't bother you, this is also OK. Just a matter of preferrence and how you plan to use it.
You might even consider a Form 1 build. Then you get exactly what you want.
Although thoroughly tested designs and mass production techniques have alot going for them too. It's a great thing that there are so many options for us. Each of us can choose what they like best. :)

I'm ordering one. It's a niche can of course, which from my understanding should be good for a handful of hearing-safe shots. For the price, the way I see it anyway, seems worth it.

Cost of the can + shipping = $204

Transfer from my SOT = $50

Tax = $200

Total in my hand cost $454.00

Sent payment to Brooks today!

Forgive my ignorance. Is December 10 the cutoff date for Trust and Corp. Form 4's to not require CLEO etc. or is there some other reason 12/10 is relevant?

As I understand it, Dec. 10 is the earliest date upon which the new rule could become effective, and the rule will most likely apply to forms submitted on or after its effective date.

Yes, a rule can't go into effect prior to its approval.

That said there is no enactment/effective date disclosed, so it may be immediately or it may be years. NOONE knows.

Just to let you guys know, we've still got some of these cans in stock at the $189 price. Also, wanted to point out that they sound quite good on .22LR hosts, so if you're looking for a nifty little .22 suppressor, it may be worth it to you just in that capacity :)

Yes even though I will use it occasionally on a 9mm, I intend you use this primarily on a Beretta 950BS .25ACP.

I'll let you know how it turns out next Spring.

The first post says that more pictures are on the way. Any chance they'll be up soon? Also, can TM confirm that the specs speculated about on the first page are the true specs?

Does anyone have contact information for Brooks or anyone else at Thompson Machine?

My emails aren't being answered and there are some serious questions that are coming up from the ATF and my dealer.

Brooks usually responds on here.

They are at SHOT now so that may not be responding.

Here is a phone number for them as well. (850) 228-2970
