SWR Specwar 762 video

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

SWR Specwar 762 video

Post by Fireman1291 »

Ok here is the next video from the Silencerco Demo Day lineup!

The SWR Specwar 762 rifle suppressor impressed the hell outta me that day! We shot this REM700 all day with M80 ball ammo without ear plugs and my ears never showed the least bit if discomfort. I was truly impressed. We were talking 5 ft from whomever was shooting at the time and carrying on a normal conversation and every time a shot rung out you didn't even register it as a nuisance. I'm VERY excited to get mine in! Now if the ATF would just open back up!

How big of a difference is there between specwar and saker mount rigidity? Can you notice any difference? Gotta wonder if the ASR mount will loosen up if the teeth grind down or loosen over time.

They both seemed to be the same as far as rigidity. They had zero movement and I don't see teeth wear being an issue on the Specwar mounts as you aren't clicking over top of the teeth like on say a AAC 51T mount.

Thanks for the video. The Specwar 762 sounds great on a .308 Rem 700...

Man it's hard to put into words. I could sit there and shoot all day long. You forget your shooting a .308!

Ok you seem very excited about the Specwar. Especially for someone that's shot three other top cans. Got any pros / cons comments when comparing cans? At least stuff that isn't obvious via website / marketing metrics.

Is the Specwar compatible with the Saker Trifecta?
Is there a Saker Mounting Module that is compatible with the Specwar mounts?

i think only the Specwar mounts can mount the Specwar suppressor, it wouldn't be compatible with any other mount unlike how the Saker would be with it's seperate modules

ETA: sorry reading into it, i should say the the Specwar wouldn't mount others such as the 51t and such

Silencerco website lists all the mounts. The Saker fits pretty much everything.

The Specwar uses our proprietary ASR mount. The Saker can have the MAAD device changed to allow it to mount with the corresponding flash hider. The Saker mounts that are currently available are the Trifecta and the 51T with the direct thread, ASR, and Y mount in the works.

Can't the ASR mounting system lock onto the AAC 51T flash hider? I thought Dave said it fit better than AAC's own mount. Maybe he meant Saker 51T mount on AAC 51T flash hider.

I won't crack it but can warp it. We were slowly cooling it so he could go. But we had to cool it or it would end up melting his case foam.

I'll try to get the Specwar video out soon but can tell you it sounded AWESOME! I wouldn't even wait for the video. The price SilencerShop has makes it a no brainer.

Me too..between Specwar 5.56 and Saker or Specwar 7.62, But the Specwar 7.62 its too big and heavy for free hand shooting.

Please review the teeth. I hear the SWR teeth are much finer than the AAC cans. Do the round off at all? With use I mean.

The method for lockup is actually completely different. The ASR spring teeth do not drag like the 51T system. Contact between the spring teeth and flash hider teeth is only made in the locked position. Rotation of the ASR collar cams both sides of the spring into the flash hider teeth. This locks the Specwar onto the flash hider. To remove, rotate the collar clockwise and the ASR spring teeth cam out of the flash hider teeth.
