O E Brown?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

I haven't been able to find the copy of the old catalog, but I believe that Brown was
one of a couple of small manufacturers that tried to take up silencer manufacturing
after Maxim got out of the silencer business.

Maxim quit making firearm silencers before the 1934 NFA was enacted. There just
wasn't any money in it. They went into the engine muffler business and were still
around until at least WWII. The Brown firm, of course, was done in by the 1934
NFA.

If I'm remembering the old catalog correctly, the Brown looked pretty much like
the last Maxim. That is, a concentric design. If you have a legal Brown silencer,
I would guess that's quite rare.

Maxim is still in business, just don't do firearm silencers anymore.
