Anyone here got an Eform 4 approval yet?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Anyone here got an Eform 4 approval yet?

Post by wacki »

My cans went to wrong SOT at same dealership. This guy won't do eforms, PayPal, credit card , etc. He also says 90 day form 4s are an Internet lie. I know the form 1 clears in 90 days because I've had one go through.

So how long did your eForm 4 take?

Have you personally had a 90 day form 4 approval?

I am told as well that the Eforms that made it through were in the test batches and that not a precedence timeframe.

Also ATF told me that they have had thousands of them submitted in the last couple days, so that will extend the timeframe as well.

I personally had a form 4 I submitted on September 6th approved on December 9th. I have a bunch more I submitted in the middle of September so we shall see if that approval time holds.

I submitted 2 eform 4's on September 3rd and 2 more on September 6th.

The ones from the 3rd were approved December 3rd.

The ones from the 6th are still pending.

I found out that the ones from the 3rd were in fact part of the test batch that were processed super fast. The ones from the 6th are regular transfers.

Those 3 days between submittals could equal a few months difference...

Silencershop confirmed the test time period. They say its still 90 days faster via eforms. I'm working with silencershop to fix this. Those guys are awesome.

It had to be a pretty big batch to test the system.

I had a Form 1 and Form 4 approved via eForm. My dealer submitted the Form 4 on 9/9/13, approved 12/10/13.

The two dated the 6th came in yesterday, the 12th. A few days longer than the first two, but still pretty good...

Dang old eforms! I wish I could redo my two from the first week in March! Boo hiss!

Now to keep on waiting. Perhaps I should call and bother them in January. ..

You need to find another dealer. The E forms are much faster. Pretty much all my forms from September have been approved. They are being approved in the order they were received so they definitely aren't just testing the system. I was told they are really trying to keep E forms under 4 months to get people to use the system. I would imagine it is much easier on their end. No more countless boxes of paper.

I have gotten back 5 form 4's and 2 form 1's from early to mid-September. All between 90-95 days.

I also have a few paper forms pushing 9+ months. It almost makes sense to withdraw the paper forms and do them online.. I would have done just that in September had I been clairvoyant enough to see this far...

Also, I can confirm that they are doing them on a first come first served basis. I had some days apart that were approved days apart, not combined as I had hoped...

That is awesome to hear, I think my main dealer will, but out of the 3 I called, here are the responses I got

"We refuse to do forms electronically" (I don't think they know you can, dumb-asses, have never liked them)

"You can not do that, ALL forms MUST be mailed in" (I corrected him and he is researching it but will call me back, his Form 3 transfer price is $100 too, don't trust this guy)

"You can do that?" (Yup, I just went to the store and showed them my form 1's I submitted, I think/hope they will) I would hate to do paper...)

Fingers crossed, the other stores are very far away, but it is worth the drive if they would do it.
