Just for Fun - Speculation on SWR / Silencerco's Next ....

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Just for Fun - Speculation on SWR / Silencerco's Next ....

Post by .300WinMag »

So just for fun - what are they going to next?

IIRC (in order)

The rimfire cans were upgraded to two of the most superlative options out there. Then came pistol offerings from Silencerco, only to be later (bettered) by SWR. Now they have very good SWR rifle cans that will be followed (bettered) by the Silencerco offerings.

So what is next? Work back through the cycle and make an even better rimfire?

Better rifle can? The saker isn't better as far as quiet or price and still heavy.

I say SWR makes a shorter light rifle can.

10/22 integral based on the Sparrow concept. And that isn't limited to only one distributor.

Maybe some new "pronged monoblock" like Gemtech's G-series?
Or a radical experiment using ventouri mixer/ejector concept like helicopter turboshafts use?
Obviously I have no inside info.
I AM eagerly anticipating their Muses inventing something worthy of their Great Brand.
Any crumbs for our imaginations SWR?

I'd definitely buy a 10/22 integral. I like to see some Mini centerfire cans like the Mini4 or Surefires Micro/Minis.

Mini centerfire cans.

BTW looks like the Harvesters are in stock at Silencershop. $525 for a 11 oz 300 win mag can. As long as it suppresses well it is going to be one hell of a can.

Those are mostly muffler tubing w bleed holes that prevent the wad cup from opening, right?
Would anyone like a thread on 12ga cans on Smithing Forum?
I've got pics of monoblocks and have seen the muffler tube design. They're fairly popular in Europe where they worry about excess noise disturbing animal breeding, etc. We have to replace what we take, right?

Yes please. I would finally buy a 20 ga. for this.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

I don't know what they'll make next, but i know SWR won't be making anything else. There IS no more SWR…

As in Silencerco Octane -

Nice people at SWR and Silencerco. The only suppressors I've owned have been an Octane 9HD and a Sparrow. Both outstanding
and their customer service was excellent. I recommend them to customers pretty regularly. Look forward to reading about what they come up with next.

Noticed that on their site, that would be a HUGE mistake and confirm some fears 3 years ago. Mine have to say SWR or its just a robbed knock off. :x

You are talking about old designs. Hushpower is very popular in Europe/ UK

I would need short, light, and easy to clean and that would mean using the whole barrel with a sleave. Doesn't have to be wisper quiet but no more than 20". Not interested in buying whole guns either ( like 10/22's). Just want the barreled suppressor.

And Hughes too. And they picked up Jason Schauble. Will not be long before Henry is out.

I really do not see much of a future for SilencerCo.

Whatever they come up with they'll have a hard time matching the performance of your cans. I love my AE30 and am strongly considering an AEM4. Keep up the good work Ron and thank you for all you do for the industry.
