5/8-24 to 1/2-28 asapter

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

5/8-24 to 1/2-28 asapter

Post by emrisg »

Can anybody reccomend an adapter to use my tirant on my 300 whisper bolt gun.
The gun is threaded 5/8-24 and the pison for the can is 1/2-28. I have the fixed barrel spacer just no adapter.

Thanks

Ideally you'd want to buy a piston that's 5/8-24, but AAC doesn't seem to make one. LINK:http://www.advanced-armament.com/Ti-RAN ... p_585.html

Here's a link to an adapter though: http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/ba ... 05317.aspx

Thanks but I am going from 5/8-24 to 1/2-28 not 1/2-28 to 5/8-24.

I was told aac would not make a 5/8-24 piston. Does anybody make pistons for these cans besides AAC?

I agree that a new piston would be the best fix but I can not find one.

Never needed one because I have a SWRs but sumk in this thread posts one ($40) and maybe ask Rim what he went with.

Do you have a Tirant 9 or 45?

I actually recommend TROS adapters since they use higher grade steel (stainless 300 series). This is especially important when using the bigger adapters that go from larger to smaller threading.

They cost a little more at $65 each but it's worth it. Just shoot Mark an email and tell him what you need.
