Octane 45

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Octane 45

Post by Trevor2011 »

After 11 months I brought home my new octane 45. Ran 50 rounds through it as the sun was going down and I have half a case setting by the front door ready to go when the sun comes up tomorrow

I love my " Swoctanes", very versatile and easy to clean.

Yours should be SWR marked, no? :D

The FN is a very handy house gun. :) 1911's are very quiet host suppressed. The Octane is great for some carbines and rifles too. :P

Indeed the Octane 45 works very well on a SIG 1911 and on a UMP SBR!!!

The Octane 9 works great on SIG 9mms and a 300 BLK AR SBR.

Cleaning in a wet tumbler w SS pins has proven to be a snap.

Great cans!

I loved my Octane 9HD on my Daniel Defense 300 BLK and Handi Rifle 300 BLK so much that I ordered the Octane 45.....I'm not sure how long ago it went pending, but I'm thinking it has to be approved sometime soon.....maybe within the next several weeks depending on wait times from last September or so.

My SWR fondness grew exponentially when my Spectre II's came in.....Just so easy to take apart and clean out that I got the Octane 9HD.....then I heard of the 45 and just HAD to buy that one too. No such thing as too many cans!!!!!

I can't wait to try it out on my FNX-45.....shooting 15 rounds of 45 ammo is awesome.....having multiple cans to put on it will be even better. The Liberty Miranda is awesome on it, but I'm looking forward to comparing the two.
I've gotta stop this habit.

A friend of mine has a 77/44 with an Octane on the end. Man, what an amazing thing to shoot.
Super heavy, huge slugs of lead, subsonic with just a "click" and a thud down range.

I so want a 77/44 now!

I like it, but the 77/357 is even quieter, it is truly nuts with 158gr 38spl

38's are VERY quiet with the O9, haven't tried the O45 on the smaller stuff yet. ( because of 09)

Don't mind a little louder for more lead though. :D

Awwww Mannnn!
Seeing this made me even MORE anxious for mine to come in.
I just paid for it last month ... I'm guessing I still have 5-6 months left "in waiting" :(

Enjoy it

Indeed ... we do understand your angst! Mine took 10.5 months to clear. Gets to be a very, very long wait!

Had to submit the Form 4s for my last two cans on paper because I could not convince the local dealer to do e-file. So am back in the soup ... with only a year to wait. Fortunately, do have cans in the calibers ordered so the wait will not be quite as bad.

... sigh ...

Do you know the approx wait time for paper forms filed around last September or October? My O45 paperwork was sent off before the dealer started the e-file......he's had quick returns when he did the e-file, but I'm not sure if those are still coming back approved in 3-4 months like they were when they first started doing them. I'm anxious for mine to be approved but have no idea what the turn around time was when we sent off the Form 4......have several others sent in around that time too IIRC.
I've gotta stop this habit.
