Adams Arms PDW video

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Adams Arms PDW video

Post by Fireman1291 »

I have ran this upper for 4 months now and have accumulated enough footage to release this video. I am super impressed by it's performance and everything I put it through. I am a piston convert now!

Love the new intro! That AA upper is very tempting.

Ask and you shall receive. This was last October. Not a full mag dump, but a few short bursts with a longer one at the end to empty the mag. It was a hell of a lot of fun. The guy next to me was shooting a 16" unsuppressed midlength to give you an idea of the sound comparison.

I also have some other vids up from the same range day. We brought some nice NFA toys with us.........

So it's just another short AR with a piston retrofit on it?

What's special about that?

This is not a retrofit. This is a factory upper as sold by Adams Arms.

Ok so they put the same parts as the retrofit kit on at the shop instead of your house, what's special about it?

They need to make that in 300 BLK. Let's start calling them.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

You don't have to do it yourself. :D
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

And you get to pay more. :P

Piston AR's still gas you , are louder, and the chamber is just as dirty. Yes I have a piston AR ( and others) in .556 and would never want one in 300 BLK. Also they can have their own issues down the road.

I'm not sure what piston you are running Emilio, but the AA piston with the Specwar doesn't gas at all. It isn't nearly as dirty as a DI gun either.

Just as dirty??  Dude….what?!?

And how would I get gas to the face when all the gas is vented up front? Back pressure gas from the bore? Not enough to notice, at least on the 7.5" upper. All I know is it's a much better shooting experience and this is coming from a die hard DI guy.

I said the chamber is just as dirty so you still want to clean if you want to trust your life with it especially shooting ammo like wolf . Yes, blow back is less at the face but you still get some gas shooting fast from the barrel and the smoke is at your front sight/optic which in a stale wind could be an issue.

It May be the newest greatest thing for you but I've had both for many years, I personally like pistons in other piston designed platforms and they have draw backs in AR's so to me it's not an end all. ( much like HK thinking they have a better platform)

Also, don't you go laughing at old Emilio, he doesn't need gloves and tactical gear to get the job done. ( putting it mildly)

Wow. I'm not the biggest fan of the AR but I'm looking for the drooling WANT emoticon.

Nice vid!
