Are any of the bolt locks for the 10/22 worth the try or do you just use your thumb when you want quiet? I'd rather not have to drill or alter anything. Is there a simple device to keep the bolt closed for those few times of needing quiet but allows you to quickly change back over to semi without tools?


Thanks guys. The collosic appears the best but at $85 I wonder why the sound meter doesn't show a difference?

There are several bolt locks out on the market...but for quieting the action, a good bolt buffer is hard to beat. I prefer the 'Tuffer Buffer', but have seen several that work well.

Regarding your question about metering, what a can meters and how the system sounds are two completely different things. The meter will reflect the magnitude of the largest impulse it records; your ear hears things differently.
