I've had great subsonic results from several other cartridges

I have noticed a few flakes of unburned powder in the receiver, but not the suppressor. I run 220 SMK through a 9" barrel and a 762 SDN.

I get some in the receiver. Never noticed any in the can. AAC 762SDN6

I tested some of my friends 5744 loads

I had same problem with 5744 in 50 beo suppressor

5477 is a bit on the slow side, QL predicts around 30ksi which might not be enough for clean burning. I have seen similar tendencies with N110, a few grains of unburnt powder wouldn't worry me much.

I've had the issue with 150gr bullets, so much that I would have feed jams due to powder filling the chamber enough that it would only take 2 mags to induce. Bcg was covered with powder flakes also.

A1680. I never had these issues with 200+ gr bullets.

Not sure on the powder. I have been shooting Remington, Southwest Ammo and PNW.

I know this is a really old thread, but I came across this via a google search. At the range yesterday, I experienced this for the first time while testing a new powder for subsonic loads in an 8.5" barrel AR. As with any new powder, I generally make up 5-rounds each for a ladder test and start with the lowest load first. I was trying Shooter's World blackout w/ 220gr plated projectiles and CCI-450 small rifle magnum primers. My initial guess loads were 10.5gr, 10.8gr, 11.3gr, & 11.6gr. I am looking to find a load that gives me 1050-1070fps out of my combo. Upon first firing of the 10.5gr load, velocity was really low (5-shot average = 810fps @ chrono), but it left a lot of unburnt powder all over my bench. All of these loads produced low velocity, so I need to keep working up, but they all blew a lot of unburned powder out of the ejection port, into the receiver, etc. Hopefully this will get better as I achieve higher pressures (e.g. more velocity). This is the first time I experienced this, so I figured I would share in-case this topic is still of interest.

My prior load was 9.0gr of Lilgun, which measured 1077fps @ my chrono. but I hadn't observed any powder residue with it. I was testing the new powder because for me, Lilgun will only cycle with my suppressor on, and my adjustable gas block opened up nearly all the way. With the gas block set this way, I feel it is over gassed when shooting my super load. I was trying to see if I could find a powder that produces more gas in subs, so I could close the gas port up so it doesn't cycle as hard when shooting my super load.

A jacketed bullet will raise pressure as will its weight.
The parent cartridge 300 Whisper was touted for its extreme accuracy and the penetrating quality's of heavy slow projectiles while suppressed.The use of lighter supersonic bullets has created the problem of over-gassing in duel ammo guns.The cure is make a choice between subs and supers or build a better gas regulator to switch between them.
