Whitney Wolverine

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Whitney Wolverine

Post by paragon50 »

Has anyone tried putting a can on one of these? I have done some homework to learn the barrel thread is 3/8x16 and have found a company that makes an adapter. This pistol was originally built in the 50's and is being reproduced by Olympic arms.

It's from this discussion:

From that and other talk about the revived Wolverine I get the impression it'd be somewhat pointless to consider as a suppressor host. The company making them strongly indicates high velocity ammo only. That's not gonna be quiet, no matter what you throw in front of it.

Not mine, I think it's in a post from ARF.

Looks like I'll be ordering an adapter and giving it a try.

I always liked the looks of the Wolverine, looks better with a can.

That picture is one I did, the thread is 3/8X24 on the new guns so easy adapter to make. I tried to do an original gun but everything on the gun was built so crooked and off center in the castings that I gave up.

This gun is one I recommend gets cleaned with spray and not disassembled at all, as parts go everywhere and it is not easy to put back together.
NFA shooters blow their load with only one pull of the trigger.

The wolverine has always been a .22" and the revamped version is the same.

From what I've been told these guns are not very reliable and the Olympic Arms ones are not well made. Dissassembly is difficult and I believe I've been told that the threads may or may not be straight on all of them, which could lead to baffle strikes.
A gun is meant to protect your life, not your wallet. Things can be replaced, people cant.
