Best 7.62 can for x39 and x51?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Best 7.62 can for x39 and x51?

Post by jwise »

I want to get a can for my .308win bolt gun (Rem 700 LTR), and I want to use it on either an AK or a Sig 556xi Russian (7.62x39).

I already have an AAC M4-2000 for my ARs, so I was thinking about the AAC equivalent in .30cal (AAC 762 SDN-6).

The benefits to the SDN-6 as I see it:

- It will attach on my .223 rifles (that already have the 51-tooth mount attached) if I already have my M4-2000 mounted elsewhere. Sure, it's a .30cal can on a .223, but it still works.

- I can get fast-mount flash hiders for the Sig 556xi and for the bolt gun (once I get the barrel threaded), so it can be swapped out quickly. This is important, as I only shoot suppressed.

- It's good.

The bad:

- It's kind of heavy compared to other cans on the market. Of course, the ones I've compared it to are quite a bit more expensive...

So what are your thoughts?

So the Saker will mount right onto an AAC 51T flash hider?

As I do not know anything about the Saker (searching now), tell me why it is your vote?

According to the manufacturer's websites, the Saker weighs .7oz more than the AAC 762-SDN-6; it is .16" shorter than the SDN-6; both will mount on a 51T AAC mount (will I need to purchase a MAAD mount for the Saker?); and the Saker costs more ($1300 v. $1050 MSRP).

I don't completely see why the Saker is the obvious choice over the SDN-6. At this point, none of my local shops have either one in stock, so neither one enjoys a local bias!

The Saker baffles are made of better, more durable material, Stellite. And it also has multiple mounting options, including both direct thread and QD.

You can also swap the front endcap between 762/556 sizes for even better 556 sound reduction.

saker 762 doesn't wobble like the sdn-6 & is faster to put on & off. Maad mounts allow for use on competitor fh/brakes & also has multiple end caps for better suppression, flash suppression, sub calibers, & shortly will have a recoil brake.

silencershop.com has the entire unit for $899 right now
