Form 3 wait time?

Hi Guys,

about 10 weeks ago i ordered 2 suppressors on the same day. . They were ordered from 2 different out of state dealers. I'm using 1 in-state store to do the transfer and form 4.

I've been waiting 10 weeks now, should i start to get worried?
If something is going wrong, what would be the cause? (ie is it because my in state dealer isn't submitting paperwork or the 2 out of state shops)

Am still waiting for a Form 3 to clear from the Silencer Shop ... sent in on 8/22!!!!

I had one that was sent in early Aug just get approved a week or so ago.

Was wondering the same thing myself. Mine was sent in the first of september and I'm itching to send in my form 4. So far a whole lot of nothing.

Well one of my 2 form 3s just got approved. Now waiting for my second one.

Either the BATFE lost the Form 3 for the can purchased on 8/22 or it was never submitted. Was resubmitted on 10/18 ... so is ALWAYS good to check! As the saying goes ... $hit happens!

IF we wanted to check what do we need when calling the ATF?

Not sure you can check a Form 3 as an individual. Certainly worth a check with the dealer who sent in the Form 3 if is running long!

Who the cans are supposed to be issued to, such as trust name or individual and the SN of the cans off the form 4.

I called 304-616-4500. This was a direct number to a actual person and not a recorded message. To keep from tying up their staff and keeping this number available, I would not calling them until it is about time for approval. If we make a pest out of ourselves, ATF might stop taking calls. This would be typical of bureaucrats.

I called them about two months ago and again today. My form 4 was approved on the 18th of November and is supposed to be sent to the dealer within 30 days of approval.

Works for a Form 1 and Form 4 ... you'd have to identify yourself as one of parties to the Form 3 transfer when calling the BATFE. Not sure what identification information they would require.
