Paranoid delusional question about Form 1 Wait (nevermind I was)

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Paranoid delusional question about Form 1 Wait (nevermind I was)

Post by propeine »

I e-filed on November 7th and have been patiently watching NFATracker.com to see when others approvals are coming in. It seemed to be pretty linear around the 35 day mark for most form 1s. Yesterday all of the approvals posted were submitted 4-5 days after mine. I rang the ATF to see if they had any updates and they couldn't find me by serial number. I had to look up the permit number and give it to them.

I'm concerned something is missing/messed up. Someone reassure me that I'm just being paranoid

I had a similar issue with my recent Form 1. I contacted them via the ask an expert function of eforms and got a prompt email. A few days later my form was approved.

Patience is really a virtue when dealing with any .gov agency. With ATF, this is doubly true.

What srs said above ^

Also, NFAtracker can sometimes be misleading for a variety of reasons.
Look at some of the approved dates as an extreme spread of a window,
and your's is 'somewhere' in that spread.

Not being able to find your F1 via serial number would concern me too, but
as long as they did, all should be gtg.

NFATracker is a good site to get a very very very very rough loose idea of timeframes.

There is no verification of the data that is submitted.

As messed up as it is I have had customer brag about how they put in false information in it to make the newbies anxious.

I unfortunately put too much faith in the truthfulness of others. Regardless I got my Christmas present this morning so its off to the races to order material now. I'll take 40 days vs 12mo plus like plenty have waited.
