Those stats, combined are pretty impressive.
I too may start saving pennies, nickels and dimes
for one of these.

This might end up being my next thread-on bolt gun can.

My, my!

I have two 7.62 Sakers in NFA jail.

The one thing that does seem to be constant in the last 4 years is that I get things on order ... and a can with better specs for at least some uses shows up in the market.

Only thing I can comment on the Omega is that the use of titanium to reduce weight may effect the firing schedule allowed for the can. Ti doesn't do well with high temps. (Gotta convince myself that I really don't NEED more for a while!)

... sigh ...

I think I'll wait til Summer before I order 1.
Sometimes they come up w their best products in 2nd qtr. Last April they announced a mind-blowing pistol can. Hopefully they'll exceed the Omega's performance, too.
(Though I'm still waiting on my form 4 from last yr's can. :( )

I was excited about the Saker till they finally came out with it in 30. Too heavy and the sound reduction wasn't all that impressive...but a great mount. This looks like Silencerco my have finally got it right. Eastern Hunter, they are claiming full auto rated.

Specwar and Harvester had a baby and it's called Omega.

The Saker is still more durable overall, and has the better mounting system.

But the Omega is quieter, weighs a lot less, and helps in recoil reduction.

Dtom,

I saw that ... but I expect the Saker is more rugged. I would not want to get a titanium suppressor very hot. May not be an issue for the majority of folks.

Note that the Omega is restricted to barrel lengths longer than the Saker.

Nonetheless ... the state of the art progresses for sure!

2 things....Will the omega fit the small fortune I have spent on specwar mounts?

Also, is there a list of Minimum Barrel lengths for supersonic loads? Thanks

The list of minimum barrel lengths I saw was:

5.56 10"
7.62x51 16"
300 Win Mag 20"

Thanks for posting that, Those are barrel lengths I can live with. I use a Gemtech Sandstorm and have no trouble with it being all Titanium even using it on a semi 308 and 5.56. I got spoiled by the 13.5 ounces of the Sandstorm and just don't want anything much heavier anymore. That's what has kept me away from the Saker.

I'd like to get one of these using the soon to be announce SC Blue Label Program. Hopefully the discounted price is as good as Glock and Vortex gets on their products.

It works with the SpecWar mount. or it works as a direct thread. Comes with both.

I'm ordering mine Monday...

Saker mounts will not work.

I'll remain skeptical of it's claimed suppression reduction until I see a side by side metering with a saker or a competitor's can. SilencerCo, how about one of your famous comparison videos that you used to produce?

I thought I heard somewhere on the net that the anchor brake is suppose to lower the sound level of the can. Can anybody confirm this, and is that at the shooter's ear or at the muzzle? Can I purchase one for my saker that's nearing the end of its jail time?

I don't believe a saker will accept a anchor brake

Their downloadable manual for the Omega has a warning about shooting the can without the anchor brake or SilencerCo endcap will void the warrantee. Since they they only make endcaps for the Saker I figure the Saker endcaps and Omega anchor brake are cross compatible. Hopefully someone from SiCo will chime in, they are the only people with a definitive answer.

I e-mailed SiCo about something similar the other day.. here was Tyler's response to me today..

Thank you for your interest in our Saker, and Omega suppressors. You are correct about the gain that may be had with the 5.56 Front Cap on the Saker 762 suppressor. As for the Omega, it will ship with the 7.62 Anchor Brake that you see in all the photos. However we do plan to release flat front caps by the end of this quarter for the Omega. With all of this in mind though, the Omega with the Anchor Brake Front Cap is more quite on 5.56 than any other suppressor we current have to market. The Omega metered at 130.1dB for 5.56, while the Saker 762 metered at 134.6 with their 762 Front Caps as they ship. Therefore, with the Saker 5.56 Front Cap installed on a Saker 762, you will be getting very close to that of the Omega, and Specwar suppressor series' suppression for the 5.56 cartridge. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Thank you,

Going by weight and rating, the most comparable can to this would be.... ?

The 300-TM probably?

I'm waiting for real numbers as well. I wonder how it compares to the Specwar in terms of DB reduction?

Silencerco has always been straight with their metering. Their numbers and independent testing numbers are within the range of what can be explained by environmental variations.
