Video: Hush Subsonic Ammo

Well I can say I'm impressed. For $17/box of good high quality gunfood for my suppressed setups I really can't complain. I have tried Winclean, American Eagle, Fiocchi 147 & 158's, Magtech, UMC, Speer, you name it. And the only round that came close to the sound levels was the Fiocchi 158's which are pretty damn hard to find and won't run in some guns due to a longer OAL.

So I stumbled on this, ordered in a case of each and got to shooting. While I wasted more than half of my stash shooting in to dirt in the name of science (no bullet impact noise) all the while using one camera to capture all the angles you're about to see. It was all worth it if it helps out my fellow NFAers.

Hope you enjoy the video!

Sure have and it was good. I have it on video. But they only sold (at that time at least) JHP ammo and not target FMJ. It was too costly.

Looks like good ammo. But, I have a local source for Fiocchi 158gn at $15 a box. I can't see paying more for a lesser known, not proven to me, brand.

Is there a test of ammo only?

One platform, one can, on atmospheric condition, with the only variable being the ammo?

TIA

How does the 147 hush compare to the standard freedom munitions 147 grn?
I would assume better but is it worth the 30 Vs 20 a round price difference?

Edit: they should pay you for that level of advertisement of their product.

Hahaha I appreciate the compliment. I asked the same thing and they said the formula is different. Who knows.....

Have you tried the standard 147 from them yet? I was curious after being impressed by the mk25 octane hd combo with the hush.
Just because its a different formula doesn't mean real world differences.

I tried it. There isn't a difference from an osprey .45. As best as I can tell this is being marketed to tactical Timmy's to improve their mall ninja skills.

No difference with their 45acp ammo yes. But there is a difference with their 9mm.

Have you tried the American Eagle Suppressor stuff? I got some of the .22LR version and I was impressed at how clean shooting it is. I picked up some of the 9mm 124 grain load to try but I'm waiting on a stamp and barrel trimming.

BTW, nice video!

Some of the bigger names are finally figuring it out, but some just don't get it still (Federal/AE). Nice to have options.

Not an ideal bullet weight, velocity too high, price too high. They need to use a better 147gr bullet (not 124gr), cleaner powder, less velocity and lower the price. 38 cents per round for 9mm subsonic FMJ is ludicrous.
