what are the new timelines?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

I was doing some un-scientific analysis of the nfatracker.com spreadsheet and it looks like form3 &form 4's are running about 4 months, forms submitted in Oct are just being approved and receiving stamps. Form 1 eforms to a trust are running 14-35 days, if the data on nfatracker is at all real, I know it's self reported, but you'd like to think it's real. Wish they'd get the eform for form 4's up again.

Purchased my first can on 12/13/14.

ATF cashed my check 2/9/15.

Got phone call from my local dealer that can had arrived from Silencer Shop on 2/13/14, so I guess that means the Form 3 took about 6 weeks give or take, HTH

We're seeing 3-4 months consistently on Form 4s.

Another great reason to use a trust.

Correct, we only do 1 individual to about 250 trust submissions.

I'm a new 07/02 trying to get my business going and I ordered and paid for a suppressor from a distributor in early December. This was an order for a shop suppressor to use for sales purposes. I kept emailing them for a copy of the Form 3 with no responses. They finally sent me a copy last week after many calls and messages asking for it. Once I got it, I find out that the form 3 wasn't filled out until 7 weeks after the order. When I ordered it, I was told that they had plenty of that particular suppressor in stock, so that shouldn't have been the issue. If it was, They should have informed me when I ordered. So it has now been FOUR weeks since the Form 3 was filled out and I called the NFA branch this morning to see if the serial number was in the system yet and I was told that it's not. I don't know what's going on... This is my first order with this company and it will probably be my last. I called today and was told that they would check into it and call me back but I still have not heard back. If I can get back in touch with them, maybe I should tell them to cancel it since it's not in the system yet, and send me a refund. I doubt I would get repeat business if this suppressor was for a customer. I won't be prepaying before Form 3 clears again...

I won't mention the distributor unless I can't get answers from them. I know this is my first post on here so some may think that I am just busting balls, but it is what it is.

I understand your frustration, but good luck with that.

As an FYI, I believe RSR doesn't require payment until the F3 clears. This information is coming from the 01/03 I refer NFA transfers to (I'm only an 07 with no SOT).

That may only apply if you have credit terms established with them, however.

Sorry to hear about that, that's extremely frustrating. We are a distributor as well and might be able to get you what you need. I file F3s & 4s same day as the order gets put in. Let me know if you have any questions or need anything.

My second Form 4, Pending to Approved, took 90 days (11/21/14-02/18/15).
