Awesome fast ATF return times !!!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Fulliautomatix. If you're asking me as I wrote in my post it is an individual F4

Derp, so you did, sorry. I'll blame it on trying to read forums on a phone screen. :D
I thought it was a little long for a trust Form 4. Anyway, congrats!

I sent a form 4 (trust) for a AEM5 on April 2. It arrived in Atlanta on April 6 but it did not show delivered until April 11. There is a part of me that wants to call but I probably will wait until the middle of May.

How did you derive your dates of April 6 and April 11?

Did you use a personal check for payment of the $200 tax? If so, when did the check show up as 'cashed' in your bank statement. That's a good secondary means of verification that the Bureau has received your paperwork. You're free to call them whenever, but realistically I wouldn't expect it to be done until late June at earliest. Processing times are currently sitting around 3 months after the check being cashed.

I sent it via USPS Priority with a tracking number only. Due to a trust I used a USPS Money Order. I was figuring about the middle of June before the first possibility that I get a phone call from the dealer. They advised me that the turn around was between 2.5 to 4 months right now. My last one took almost 11 months.

There is an 800 number on the back of your MO receipt that, if you call and enter the MO number, will tell you when it was cashed (or at least it used to).

It was received by ATF on 4/13/15 and approved on 8/5/15 and was received by the dealer today (8/11/15). Two days shy of four months. Not bad. Now it's going to sit until Saturday when I can get to the store.

I just got my first one ever back for a Sparrow. Individual Form 4, paid by personal check, 2 days shy of 8 weeks from the day I dropped the paperwork at my dealer to the day he called me to pick it up.

My check cleared the bank in 12 days. The Form 4 was dated 8 days before the dealer called.

I wasn't prepared to shoot it yet since I figure I had at least another couple of months.

I will be setting up a trust before my next two. One for 45 handgun and one for .308.

More research to do before I drop the cash for those.
Thanks,

BloodyThumb

From what I've seen they appear to be close to the same turn around times as of late.

10 years ago you could easily wait a year or more. Five years later 3 months was the norm. Now it's 6 months? There are a lot more transfers now than there ever was.
