When sending a Pm it does going to my outbox mean it has not been sent?

When it's in your "outbox", it means the intended recipient hasn't yet logged in and clicked on your message. This usually happens for one-of-two reasons: either s/he hasn't been onto ST since you sent it... OR... s/he has been on, but hasn't noticed that they have a message waiting for them to view.

Somebody else will ask the same thing eventually. There can't be that many hits for a search on "private message", it may be advantageous to keep this one around.
