suppressors

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Correct, more or less.

I didn't take it as a name recognition inquiry but between the lack of any specificity to the question and the enigmatic thread title any other response was precluded. It's not like they make only one can so how is one supposed to interpret "Has anyone ever heard of X?"?

Conquerer pretty much nailed it with "Has anyone ever heard of Pontiac?"

Don't edit or delete those posts Troop, they are in the classic style and a reminder of days past.

For those who have, does anyone actually own one?
Do they have any unique and nifty features?

I'd like to hear more.
I don't own one, I don't know anyone who does.

I'm not aware of any unique features.

Bonus material. Because you almost asked a lucid question.

They've been around for a while, they posted this video a long time ago of a can that starts LOUD then gets quiet as if fills up with gas from the mag dump.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwlenkTi_tg

I remember the lynx, ion and/or 1712 was discussed at one time in a thread somewhere (maybe on a different forum) but I don't have the energy or initiative to google-fu it.

In the world of suppressors, or anything NFA for that matter, if it's been around for 3 years and nobody is talking about it then there's probably a reason and the reason is it's probably not worth talking about.

Every once in a while something new comes along sometimes sometimes followed by some snap judgments that turn out wrong and somebody has to eat crow.

But for the most part when something new comes out the real wizards on this site will wait for tangible information to surface before chiming in or will let the new product slide back into anonymity without making a single comment.

Nothing worth talking about has surfaced for APD in 3 years. It doesn't mean nothing will.

I am not a wizard. I am not even a wannabe. I'm just a collector who can remember a fair amount of trivia on the topic and possesses a modest amount of google-fu.

Dumb people can't help it; lazy people can.
This is where I'm at. I don't understand how you take the time to register on a forum, only to post such an indolent question.
It would have taken, all of, 4 seconds to Google search "APD suppressor review". Which would have yielded, pretty much, nothing. An answer in itself.

Hopefully, the OP will see there is much to learn, and "playful" members to share some knowledge with.

I thought the baffle-stack was unique.... though in my grossly uninformed opinion, it doesn't seem appropriate for holding gas nor for using internal volume efficiently.

Cripes!

Thanks for reminding me.

Twisted accordion volume chewing heat mongering carbon trap design.

I remember finding and linking several pics.

ETA: Now that Troop jostled my memory this is where I found all the stuff I linked before http://apdinnovate.com/wp-content/uploads/

Look in the 2014 folder for PDF spec sheets on the models as well as pics.

The cutaways help explain why they're so heavy.

The don't call them baffles, they call them "ICE", they refer to K baffles as megaphones and say they're inefficient. http://apdinnovate.com/wp-content/uploa ... arison.pdf
