I started reading about this, the other day, in another forum.

I've said it before,"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

I laugh my ass off when I read something like this. It would be smarter to go buy fender washers, and pipe at Lowe's. :D :D :D

And yet the sad part is I still don't think there should be a problem buying suppressor parts or full suppressors over the interwebs with no permit, no license, no NFA tax, etc.

Congress passed the NFA law in the 1930's. Congress and an enlightened Republican President, e.g. Ted Cruz, can put
cans in perspective as being in the same class as placing scopes on pistols with barrels less than 16"
by amending the law to bring it into the 21st century of reality.

Can we please emplore our staunch Conservative brethren NOT to stay home in the next Presidential
election?

It is simple as ABC: Anyone But Clinton. :)

"Them's my sentiments" - President "Silent Cal" (laconic) Calvin Coolidge.

The big question is whether or not the GOP has learned that running a dirtbag candidate chosen by the party elite is a bad idea yet.

With the way the money is lining up behind Bush 3.0, I have serious doubts.

That's not actually an article, it's fear mongering to sell his services. THERE IS NO "CRACKDOWN."

EXACTLY! The problem with the republican party IS the "staunch" conservatives. They will *NOT* vote for an electable candidate -- they only vote for "staunch" conservative candidates that the other 90% of America just CAN'T get behind because the majority of their views are in direct conflict with the majority of the views of most Americans.

The only "issues" where "staunch conservatives" and "everyone else" even come close to meeting in the middle is on "less taxation" and "'shall not be infringed' means 'shall not be infringed'". With regards to social policy "staunch conservatives" are unelectable, and they seem to like it that way.

Any study of the work habits and ethics of the "younger generation" reveals a heavy bias towards self-reliance and libertarian social ideals (quitting a high-paying high-hour job in favor of a lower-paying lower-hour job which gives them more time for family), but those same biases mean that they will NOT vote for a candidate that will restrict their social liberties in anyway (anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-drug, etc.)

Obama came across as the social libertarian in the last election, and that's exactly why he was so popular. I don't know anyone that voted for him who won't admit he has been a complete train wreck at this point, but they'd still rather Obama get a 3rd term (Hillary) than have a 5th term of (a) Bush due solely to the candidates perceived stances on domestic social/family issues.

Realistically, I think the best hope for the R party this go around is probably Marco Rubio. Any WASP candidate is starting out way behind simply because Hillary will make another "first" in the oval office (first woman). Cruz, as latino/hispanic as his name may sound, comes across to the voting public as nothing more than another WASP who hates women (anti-abortion stance) -- that isn't a winning combination in today's America.

Rubio would make the "first" latino/hispanic president, is likely to galvanize a large part of the independent latino/hispanic vote, and (regardless of his personal views) hasn't (yet) been branded as a "woman hater" or a "gay hater" -- both of which are important demographics to getting into the White House today.

Until the "staunch" R base starts going for fiscally conservative and "socially liberal" "moderate" Republicans in the primaries, I don't think we'll see a positive shift in our electoral trends.

Not buying into the meme . Unless and until a receipt for seized property is shown , or a press release from batfe on how they are protecting us from the menace of legal gun cleaning items it simply is more internet bs .

Unless he's lying about it all, what exactly do you consider "...being contacted by local ATF agents..." ??

it's a blog. he's been writing NFA articles for years.
his service is mainly selling NFA trusts. how do you propose that post is marketing his services?

Knowing him probably something along the lines of "buy a trust from me and register it now to keep the ATF from shooting your dog!"

Not at all. He just warns that some of the "kits" may get a form 1 builder in trouble.

The article is garbage. It refers to the oil filter adapters, which is a long-settled issue, not the current wave of "solvent trap" components sold online, which are all very carefully considered from a legal perspective. And the article he links to "prove" his point makes no mention whatsoever of a solvent trap silencer, simply a "homemade" silencer, which probably wouldn't have been noticed by anyone if the guy wasn't also poaching, hunting on public roads, and selling meth and stolen goods to undercover cops.

I don't know what the motivation was for the article, but it's very poorly written and provides no evidence to support its claims. And a common tactic of gun trust lawyers has been to scare people into thinking a legal act might be illegal, then offering to "lawyer the problem away," for a fee of course.

Ok sure I understand the skepticism since he's a lawyer.

But again, what part of "...customers are reporting being contacted by local ATF agents to collect the parts they purchased." are you guys not taking seriously?

Wise words!

As a Bird Colonel once said during a reading in:
"Don't do anything that you would dump your load if
it appeared on the front page of the Washington Times."

Of course if your name is Clinton then that is a horse, or is it
a pig, of a different color. :)

Smart pays attention. Unwary ... well:

Jackie Brown gun runner: "This life's HARD man, but it's HARDER if you're stupid!"
-"Friends of Eddie Coyle" 1973 [ Great DVD ]

Heck, one would get into less hassle
if he were dumb enough to try 'appropriating'
a few gold bars from a Credit Suisse vault some night
during a long holiday weekend. You would at least be respected by
the fun folks you would be sharing accommodations with at Club FED.

The guy who runs that website has been pimping his site for YEARS to sell his service. I've called him out on it before. He's posted many, many bogus things in the past. He's also posted on various gun forums under different names linking to his site, trying to make it look like he's just "putting good information out there to help people."

Shyster.

I do not follow that train of thought. I'm sure it made sense at one time.

if people were being contacted about them dont you think by now at least 1 person from some of the main gun type forms or here would have posted about that phone call. Do you think they would really put agents on contacting the 10's of thousands of oil solvent traps adapter buyers. They have bigger fish to fry. Like all the guys that violate 922r :)

Go big or go home.

If you do find yourself in the pokey you'll get more respect for a failed bank heist than your only crime being possession of an illegal weapon.
