I have a post 64 Winchester 1894 in .30-30 that has muzzle and mag tube damage. I'd like to get the barrel chopped back a little bit (along with the mag tube, although I'd still like 5 round capacity at the least) and then have it threaded so I can put an Omega on there at some point in the future.
I live in the UP of Michigan which, according to my searches, doesn't have as many lever action gunsmiths as you'd think (especially considering the concentric-to-the-bore barrel threading requirement).
Does anyone have any thoughts or comments or can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

mag tube from brownells, or GunParts.com,.....ect---
any competant gunsmith could shorten and thread barrel.
issue would be length of barrel verses length to be legal or useable...
replacement barrel from same above listed suppliers...
and you would be done...
easy fixes.
enjoy,
Chris

I have the same plan for my Marlin .35 lever gun. I already have a Liberty Mystic and they reported it to be good to go.

You have a "Mystic" or a "Mystic X" on that .35 Remington?Loki_stormbringer wrote:I believe I have the same rifle, let me know how it turns out.hardcase wrote:I have the same plan for my Marlin .35 lever gun. I already have a Liberty Mystic and they reported it to be good to go.

No, I just have a Marlin .35 lever action that's sitting in my gun safe. I haven't shot it much in the last few years. After getting into the Silencer world I've been tossing around the idea of sending it off and getting it threaded. Wanted to know how it would be if someone else gets one up and running the same way.Kanook wrote:You have a "Mystic" or a "Mystic X" on that .35 Remington?Loki_stormbringer wrote:I believe I have the same rifle, let me know how it turns out.hardcase wrote:I have the same plan for my Marlin .35 lever gun.
