What happened to the fillable Form 4 pdf's online??

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

What happened to the fillable Form 4 pdf's online??

Post by Bull »

Not sure where this subject should be written, but appreciate any help. I have always been able to find and use downloadable pdf Form 4's online, and now I am unable to type in the text boxes. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nothing...? Nobody knows of a source to find pdf versions of the Form 4 that can be typed in? Even the AFT version of the form can't be typed in, I'm not sure if this is an issue with my computer or not. Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh boy, you're correct, they changed and added stuff to the new Form 4. And it's not fillable like before. It's now revision July 2014.

Revision March 2006 was pdf-fillable and was used for quite a while. Looks like they merged 4473, the citizenship compliance form, and also added a Method of Payment section.

That's what I noticed too, I will call NFA today and see if they are going to release a version that can be typed in.

The new version of Adobe allows you to type anywhere on the form unless its locked/signed so all are fillable.

Download the latest copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. During the install make sure to uncheck the box for McAfee or Ask-toolbar or what ever else its wanting to install as well. Once you have it installed. Open the Form 4. On the toolbar inside Adobe there is an icon with a piece of paper and a pen. For me its the 3rd icon from the left next to Open. Click on that then on the right side of the window it will bring up a menu for you to choose options. Choose 'Add Text'. Then click where you want the text to be added to the document. Fill in accordingly.

If that doesn't help you please let me know and I'll make more detailed instructions.

I just downloaded the ATF form and filled it out with Adobe. You just need to click the "fill & save" tab at the top right of your screen in Abode.

Edit: so I've been told that with this new form we no longer have to send in the Certificate of Compliance......Is this True?
