Permanent attach and length

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Permanent attach and length

I'm going to call the ATF on this and ask tomorrow.

But. I am looking at permanently attaching a silencer that measures 11" to a 5" barrel but the can breaks down for cleaning ant the attached part is 4".

My question is does the 4" part only count for added barrel length. Or would the can as a whole count?


My guess is only the 4" part will. But I assume nothing.

Only the permanently attached portion counts.
