357 mag subsonic suppressor recommendations.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

357 mag subsonic suppressor recommendations.

Post by passgas55 »

I am looking for suggestions for a suppressor who primary use will be on a 357 mag bolt action rifle shooting subsonic.
I will be using powder coated bullets in the 170 gr range. Secondary use will be on a 300 bo subsonic and a 9mm ar 15 rifle.
Thanks

Mystic X is a good choice.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I use an Octane 9 on my 357 SBR, works well. Using 190 cast lead bullets out of it.

I just got a 9mm YHM Wraith XL (thread-on) suppressor to put on my H&R Handi in 357 Mag.

I bought the NOS can from another dealer for next to nothing. It's an older design sub-gun can, so it's extra large. The additional volume should help. I'm cutting the barrel on the Handi back to 16" as the can is so big and I don't need any extra velocity. It's not user-serviceable, which is bad if you shoot cast lead, unless you powder coat the bullets. I'll likely jail-break it sometime so I can clean it out.

You will want to JB it, its nice shooting cheap lead bullets. They do leave a buildup and will need cleaning more often than jacketed or plated ammo.
