Omega vs. Recce 7

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Omega vs. Recce 7

Post by Toetagger »

Ok folks....I believe I've got my first can narrowed down to these two. I intend to use it primarily on multiple ARs in 556 and 300 BO and occasionally on bolt-action 308 for hunting. Does anyone have firsthand experience with both of them that might help me determine which I get. Thanks in advance. I've never shopped for something more extensively in my life!!! LOL

I don't have either, but I imagine everyone will want to know what you will use it on and for as well as your priotities. Sound, accuracy, QD, size, weight, caliber (s)?
It's not a silencer, it's a can of whoopass!

Good point...Thank you. I edited the op to reflect those aspects.

What is the priority of important factors to you? Size, weight, price, performance, etc...?

Price, suppression, weight, size, warranty. I'd say in that order. I can get the Recce for about $200 less than the Omega.

I would go with the Recce, and I don't think you would be disappointed...

I liked my Recce 7 so much I also bought a Recce 5. Omega is a solid can too. Worst part about NFA these days is so many great choices are available

For those of you with the Recce...how does the taper mount work. Does it remain solidly attached with an extended string of fire? It appears much like a direct thread with less threading. And where have you found the best price on their taper mount muzzle devices?

It stays tight. I Bought one extra mount and just ordered from Griffin. They're in line with other devices if not a little cheaper.
