New suppressor from Dead Air announced today!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

New suppressor from Dead Air announced today!

Post by Fireman1291 »

NEW SUPPRESSOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
"At Dead Air we have always loved the AK. We wanted to build a silencer as tough as the gun it was intended for, that was thoroughly modern inside and optimized for the unique challenges suppressing the Kalashnikov has always presented. We also wanted to keep the classic "Kalash" look, so it would be equally at home on a purists rifle as well as have performance that will make it a must have for some of the more modern takes on the platform."

Surprising they would introduce this next rather than a 9mm can or a big bore rifle can...but perhaps a smart move, rather than another me-too product

I don't find it surprising at all. They intent to release a 9mm endcap for ghost-m. I doubt they will even bother with a 9mm can.

Given their love for the AK platform it didn't shock me one bit. MOD builds great AK's. That being said when we did our interview video they mentioned a 338LM can so I expect to see that before SHOT.

DeadAir again shows that it is not sitting on its laurels
but is surprising us with striking designs.

I do hope though that their emulating Kalashnikov 1947
Soviet era aesthetic in design is not a portant of their coming
out with say an East German inspired 'Tribant*-Suppressor'.

"This is the car that gave Communism a bad name." :) :)

* Not a vehicle that could be trusted to safely ferry out a 'package'
across Check-Point-Charlie. East German guards on tricycles
could catch up to it.

I'm guessing the performance will make this much more than just a cool looking niche product. I can't wait to see what is next from these guys- defiantly pushing the envelope and adding choices for the consumer that will force others to do the same. There is a lot of love for vintage guns like AK, Uzi, Mac, Thompson and M1 carbines that could be huge fun with a retro looking modern performance can. Steampunk anyone?
It's not a silencer, it's a can of whoopass!

This is becoming really expensive now with all these products coming out. I was settled on my spec war and octane, now they're planning on releasing a dedicated AK suppressor. And let's not forget I'm still looking at the Omega 9K for my MPX SBR build. I need a new profession that pays a lot more for this s--t

I would definitely get one of these. I hope they come to market sooner rather than later. I know they are trying to crank out the Ghost so I doubt we will see this one in the next few months.
It is not the Death Rattle in the throat of Western civilization which is surprising: it is the fact that millions of Americans believe that the death rattle is a beautiful song!
