Hey All,
I have a Tirant 45 suppressor and am looking to put it on a 1911 with storm lake threaded barrel. I believe the threading is .578x28 and I'll either need the regular or short piston depending on the guide rod length (I just bought the gun, so don't know which it has).
Aside from that, do I need the AAC fixed barrel spacer as well? I thought I remembered when I bought the can a while back that running it with a 1911 required a spacer as the barrel is fixed on a 1911 during cycling.
Any help appreciated!

1911 barrels are not fixed during cycling

Yup.. What he said. Unless you use it on a rimfire or a rifle host, you'll probably not need the spacer. If when you rack the slide the chamber drops down out of the way, you need the spring.fishman wrote:1911 barrels are not fixed during cycling

Thanks guys. So all I'll need is the right piston and I'm good to go? Do I keep everything as-is, with spring and all just as I shoot it wit my hk45? I have a full length guide rod so I believe I buy the regular 1/2 x 28?
Re: Tirant 45 Piston/Spacer help
1/2x28 shouldn't be the thread pattern on your 1911, unless it's a .22ejewels wrote:Thanks guys. So all I'll need is the right piston and I'm good to go? Re: Tirant 45 Piston/Spacer help
Typically .45ACP barrels are going to be .578-28 unless it is a metric barrel then it will be 16x1 which you probably already know since you have the HK45.
Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

Hey guys,
Sorry I meant .578x28. So then I'm good to go? I believe my smith is putting a storm lake drop in barrel in the gun.
