First post.
I need advice and suggestions on purchasing my first can. I've already made my trust through Silencer Shop. The can will be swapped between a 10/22, and a CZ 455 22LR. I've been looking at the YHM Stinger, and the Silencerco Sparrow. Any advice and suggestions are appreciated.

i dont have any experience with the Stinger, but i do own a Sparrow. on a rifle the first round pop won't be as noticeable as it would be on a pistol. the Sparrow is easy to take apart and clean and the customer service is top notch. that being said, if i were to buy a new rimfire can, it would be one without the FRP (in other words, i would not buy a Sparrow knowing what i know about the FRP). i would probably buy a Spectre 2.0 or a dead air mask. jmo. also keep in mind that with a rifle, your .22lr won't stay subsonic unless you use subsonic ammo.
the POWPOW now goes powpow

Sparrow is stainless on stainless, don't have one, recommend it
Spectre is stainless on stainless, have more than one, recommend it
Stinger is aluminum on stainless and comes with a tampon, don't have one, can't recommend it
ETA: Based on the research I did before I bought, the Spectre would probably average the quietest of the three across various hosts, the Sparrow second and the Stinger/Mite 3rd.

I have a Sparrow, Mask HD and Surefire SF Ryder. I love all three of them, but I would get the Mask over the other two. The Sparrow is a close second and then the Surefire third just because it has aluminum baffles. But all three are very good!

Silencerco Spectre II and Dead Air Mask HD.
The two are very close; decided on the Mask after watching this video

I would give you that cleaning the Spectre is a little easier; the Mask was selected based upon FRP.. I won't knowingly buy a .22LR can that is made of aluminum, especially aluminum baffles. My choice.
That El Camino can does look promising..

I love my Sparrow.
The moments I was censored was the moment that I won. That's twice, now. Thanks jwbaker, et al, for my victories.

Speaking from experience, stay away from aluminum for a .22. Cleaning is problematic.
