Where can I find a spacer for my TiRant suppressor to thread onto a 9mm AR rifle barrel? It won't thread all the way down to the barrel. The piston threading is shorter then the barrel threading.
I could also cut the threads and recrown but that will be more expensive and problematic when I want to thread my muzzle brake on when not using the suppressor. Thanks in advance!

Re: 9mm AR suppressor spacer
I should add that I've found plenty of 1/2x28 spacers which is what I need but they are all for .22 cans. Would that work on a 9mm can? The diameter would be fine but the gap size may be different.

You shouldn't need a spacer on a pistol. the spacers are used on rifles which have longer threads. Something is wrong with the piston or your barrel threads.

Re: 9mm AR suppressor spacer
thanks for the response but it's not for a pistol, it's for a AR in 9mm. The piston threads on fine it's just that the barrel threads are longer than the piston threads.

This is for 1/2x28, caliber should be irrelevant. My 9mm AR SBR is threaded in 1/2x36 so this wouldn't work for me, but if you are 1/2x28 this is what you need.

So others may live...

I don't own a Ti-Rrant, but are you sure it's not just carbon built up near the end of those piston threads?

If it's an AR you should be using a direct thread adapter, not a piston.
Re: 9mm AR suppressor spacer...help?!
I have a JSE surplus 9mm upper and use a Ti-Rant 9 on it. I don't need a spacer, just the 1/2-36 piston and fixed spacer in place of the spring. The threads on my barrel are super long and I don't have any problems. I would clean the piston and barrel threads (a brass brush works great for the stainless piston threads. I have mcmaster part number 7353T615) and try again. The 1/2-28 spacer should work for 1/2-36 threads if you do end up needing it, as the major diameters listed for the male threads are nearly identical between these two thread forms. DO NOT use a crush washer or somesuch, the washer needs to be a suppressor spacer that has very precisely parallel front and back surfaces.

You don't need a spacer as long as you have a spacer? Am I missing something?speed6 wrote:I don't need a spacer, just the 1/2-36 piston and fixed spacer

You missed the bold part. It is an aluminum tube that goes into the booster in place of the spring.fishman wrote:You don't need a spacer as long as you have a spacer? Am I missing something?speed6 wrote:I don't need a spacer, just the 1/2-36 piston and fixed spacerin place of the spring
