Buckmark or P22?
I am looking for a pistol to plink with...something I can take in the woods and shoot really quiet. I dont really care about accuracy, but I do want a pistol that will shoot subsonics .22 rounds - and cycle. I am looking into a pilot suppressor. What would be the best combo? What would one be the quieter? I know the buck mark is the nicer pistol, but will it accpet the sub sonic rounds? Thanks for any info...

If you don't mind spending a little more get the Buckmark.
while my P22 and many others have gone bang verytime you pull the trigger, many have not had such luck.
Vs.
The Buckmark got EXCELLENT reviews IMHO:

Well I had a Buckmark just sitting in my safe that I had never really shot----then I bought a Tac-65 and got a threaded barrel for the Buckmark---now it's one of my favorite guns to shoot and gets the most "action" at the range---I know you said you don't care about accuracy but it IS very accurate and fun to shoot....I've put subsonics, standard, high vel., bulk pack ammo through it and it ate all of it without a problem----needless to say I would highly recommend the Buckmark with whatever can you pick---it'll be a very fun combo (and everyone else will want to shoot it!!!)

Get a Buckmark,
I bought a p22 a year or so ago and "sorta" liked it at first. I have only gotten one type of ammo to cycle through it reliably. Federal Gold Target ammo. around $20 a brick.
I have shot Sub sonic rounds through the p22 and I had to re-cock the slide almost every round. Cheaper but I already wish I had just gotten a Buckmark.
I just got a Nice Buckmark for my mother for her birthday and it cycles great, and shoots MUCH more accurate. The overall quality is also much higher and its a gun you'll have for a long time.

I have a P22 and it has shot pretty much anything I put through it. Aguila SE subsonic is sporatic, but if the gun is lubed, it runs fine. I've put around 2,000 round through it, and it has near that when I bought it. It's decently accurate and runs pretty near flawless.
I keep wanting to buy a Buckmark or MKII, but my P22 just works, so there isn't really a reason to.

I have both a P22 and Buckmark with Tac Sol Barrel. I like both, but the browning is more accurate. The P22 is plenty accurate enough for shooting squirrels and plinking around. The p22 will not last as long as the buckmark. The buckmark sounds like a little louder action noise to me when suppressed? Not sure?? The buckmark is larger and heavier and doesn't hold CCI CB longs in the mag. The P22 holds them in mag, but must be cycled by hand. The Buckmark controls are very ergo and the same as a standard 1911, the P22 controls have an HK mag release and a berreta safety, I never use the safety, just decock to half cock and carry like a glock. Try to shoot both and see for yourself. Good luck, they're both fun guns and relatively inexpensive.

I got to shoot a P22 suppressed at the shoot and the same cans on my Buckmark with a TacSol barrel. The number one thing that I noticed with the P22 was I had blowback of unburt powder that kept hitting me itn the face. I really did'nt care for that. But I did like how compact the P22 was. Thanks to all that let me shoot thier cans on my Buckmark
Having just bought a Buckmark (and I've shot my buddy's P22 a bit) I would say go with the Buckmark. It's more accurate, better built, and more reliable by far. It's also cheaper; I got the Buckmark for $279 at Sportsman's Warehouse, the P22 was significantly more, although I don't remember the price off hand.
The only advantage to the P22, that I can see, is the size.
