MAG Tactical Elite mounting

I recently got a MAG Tactical Elite Suppressor from a police trade-in special. It's a direct thread 5.56 from a company that went out of business, and I have had a hard time finding much information about it. I mounted it to a Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle and an 11.5" barrel AR, and can't get any groupings from either. I don't have an alignment rod to check, but I figured I'd ask if anyone has any ideas on if I'm doing something wrong when I'm mounting it.
