New guy saying hello.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

New guy saying hello.

Post by TXscooterguy »

I waited a year for my SilencerCo Sparrow 22. Just slightly less for the Rugged Obsidian 45. Just for grins I got a Form 1 stamp. I started with a Hawk Innovative Tech solvent trap. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to attempt to clip those Hawk "spacers." Anyone have experience with this? I put my handiwork on a 300 blackout upper. I suspect my round count will be in the hundreds versus the thousands. Thanks.

Welcome to this outpost of firearms-curiosa connoisseurs.

It is heartening to see that there still exist folks who
appreciate the value of preserving their hearing while
relishing the excitement and mystique associated with firearms suppressors:

US OSS WW2, British SOE, Jungles of NAM, Mossad, CIA, Spec OPS,
Dads teaching their little girls safely shooting with ease, etc.

In the past the use of solvent traps was met with dire muffled warnings that
they were 'honey' traps' ( those of the vintage Cold War era in Europe
are smiling knowingly ) set by ATF who would be asking the sellers the list of buyers
much in the vein of Federal Agents long ago seeking the mailing lists from the deceased but
revered Paladin Press.

Given the daily and sickening assaulting, defunding, and besmirching of our Brave & Blue sons and
daughters (Law enforcement to the transient liberal viewer :) ) and where
the Biden/Harris/Cortes acolytes will replace them with BLM social workers
perhaps solvent traps will more secure.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Looking forward to
your posting actual use and sound signatures of your can.

Best.

Welcome. You bought two excellent cans, especially the Obsidian.

This site is a little slow, but stick around. There are some industry insiders here, some very talented form 1 builders and a ton of knowledge.

BTW my most recent wait was right at 6 months. Keep supporting the industry!
